The filter must be prefilled with water before running(The pump must not run dry), and the filter sponge and impeller should be cleaned regularly, We generally recommend to clean them about every two weeks.
Troubleshooting instructions:
1. Why is my filter so loud?
This filter must be prefilled with water before running, as there is air in the filter, you need fill it with water to drive the air out. Or else it will make loud noise.
2. Why does the filter fail to lift up water?
The tank water should be above the Min. water level marked on the filter, or else the filter will fail to lift up water.
3. What if my filter stops working?
It is most possibly caused by the impeller, you need take out the impeller, clean it and then reinstall it, try gently rotating the impeller by hand to make sure the impeller is free to rotate and prime the filter.
