Aquarium heater rod isn’t built in thermostat nor preset heater. It must be used with 802 temperature controller or other brands’ temperature controller with submersible temperature probe to accurely control aquarium water temperature.

Must Be Used With Temperature Controller
Place both heater rod and probe inside the aquarium and keep both fully submerged.Plug in power and you can see the red light indicator on and LED digital number display current water temperature.Press button to your desired temperature which will blinks 3 seconds and then it return to current water temperature.The heater begins to heat.
Attention:
DO NOT use heater rod alone, to avoid overheating, it must be worked with temperature controller. Make sure the heater is completely submerged in the water before power on. Make sure heater rod is fully submerged. DO NOT bury aquarium heater rod under gravel/sand.
