Q: Is the cover 100% waterproof? A: Yes. The inner lining prevents liquids from passing through, so your bed or furniture stays dry even with spills or pet accidents. However, as with all waterproof fabric covers, it is waterproof but not claw-proof. Sharp or untrimmed claws can puncture the waterproof membrane, and punctures will allow liquid to pass through. For pets that scratch or dig, we recommend placing an additional layer of fabric on top or using the cover as a waterproof liner under another blanket to protect the waterproof membrane. When washing, avoid contact with sharp objects such as zippers, studs, or abrasive surfaces, as these can damage the waterproof layer. Avoiding punctures is essential for maintaining full liquid protection.
Q: Will liquids remain on the surface of the blanket, or be absorbed by the fabric? A: Liquids may initially remain on the surface, but over time they will be absorbed into the fabric layer – depending on the amount of liquid and how long it remains on the surface. Smaller accidents (such as vomit or smaller amounts of urine) can usually be wiped away easily without needing to wash the entire blanket.
Q: Can I wash and dry it in a regular machine? A: Yes – our cover is fully machine washable and dryer safe. Just toss it in the washer with similar items such as sheets, blankets, or towels. Use warm water and regular detergent (avoid bleach or harsh chemicals). Fabric softener is fine, though unscented is usually most suitable for pets. To preserve the waterproof function, always dry on low or delicate heat. High heat will damage the protective layer – just like nylon, it can melt and expand, and lose its waterproof ability.
Q: Does the fabric make noise or feel plasticky? A: Our cover is thin, breathable, and soft. However, like all waterproof covers, it contains a protective layer that may make a slight sound when moved, similar to a rain jacket. This light noise is normal for waterproof fabrics and is the trade-off that makes the cover fully protective against spills and accidents.
